An Appeal

Young Family on Solar Farm

As a young person, you are going to inherit an ever warming world, with more limited natural resources, and a greater demand for electricity.

Electrical demand is set to skyrocket. Warmer climates need more electricity for cooling. Electrical generation/transmission becomes less efficient in warmer temperatures. AI, data centers, and Crypto all devour electricity. And an energy intensive manufacturing renaissance is happening in the US. Grids will need to be updated and much more generation capacity brought online.

A warmer climate provides more energy for damaging severe storms, which will accelerate the decline in our natural resources as well.

At this time, the global will to limit CO2 emissions is lacking. You will most likely be dependent upon a mix of energy supplies to make it through the warmer climate of the future.

For your generation to prosper, we must add significant amounts of renewable energy now, while fossil fuels are still cheap and abundant. If we wait, the costs go up exponentially, while your fossil fuel reserves go down.

Perhaps the will to limit CO2 emissions and conserve our dwindling resources will come with your generation. Perhaps it won't. But one of the best way to preserve resources, for your future, is to leverage the power of the sun NOW.

For this to happen, you must get involved. It is not enough to think that others might right this ship for you. Vigorously support sensible solar. It is your future. It is your fight. Let your voice be heard!

"Picture, if you will, a Reno County that embraced renewable energy. Imagine several wind farms and a couple of solar farms filling County coffers with 4 million dollars a year in PILOT payments. Landowners would reap a similar amount in lease payments, stimulating our economy.

Local seed companies could be researching and supplying crops best suited for local Agrivoltaics. Local manufacturers could be involved in building and exporting solar trackers and racking components. HCC could assist with research into low impact solar installations. The possibilities are endless. The economic benefits undeniable."
